Your Story - Ellie & Andy

In the beginning…

All stories are special, but engagement ring stories hold a special place, especially when Sophie knows the couple personally!

Andy and Ellie had recently moved to Oman and Andy knew that Ellie was the lady for him. He wanted to create a bespoke engagement ring that was just perfect, from the right colour stone to the setting. Ellie and Sophie have been friends for more years than they care to remember, so Andy was keen to get Sophie’s input in creating the most perfect engagement ring possible.

The Plot

Ellie had helpfully mentioned in the past the type of rings she liked, so Andy and Sophie had something to work from. Sophie begun to work on an idea she had and presented it to Andy in their initial mood board call. Luckily, Andy thought it was as perfect for Ellie as Sophie had! They set about refining and tweaking small parts of the design as they started to look at different sapphires. Both knew that Ellie liked lighter, Ceylon coloured gems. Managing the process remotely had its challenges when trying to convey the stone colour, but several videos and pictures helped! Sophie presented Andy with some options, and they finally settled on the centre stone – a 3.01 heat treated, oval mixed cut sapphire. Sophie then chose the accompanying diamonds, and it was off to the workshop to get the ring made!

The Story Continues

In January 2024 in a special place in Oman, Andy got down on one knee and Ellie said yes! Thankfully, Ellie is as in love with her ring as both Andy and Sophie had hoped! We are so thrilled for Ellie and Andy and wish them all the happiness for their future together.

"My favourite part of the process was the mood board that gave me options and choices, this really showed her care and thought going into a personal service"
