- The benefits of working with Sophie Flanagan Fine Jewellery are numerous, including Sophie’s knowledge, passion, client commitment and integrity to delivering jewellery of the highest standard. Sophie offers a personal service so clients can have exactly the piece of jewellery they want rather than having to accept something off the peg, and takes pride in making sure each client feels fully informed and engaged throughout the process. Overall, the benefit is that Sophie is friendly, well-informed and has a passion for delivering for each client, making her a go-to for any bespoke commission.
How much does a bespoke piece of jewellery cost?
- This a very broad question because it depends on the stones, the metals and the complexity of the piece. For engagement rings, prices tend to start from £1750 and go all the way up from there!
How does the process work?
- When you are thinking of taking the step into bespoke jewellery, it can help to talk through what the stages are. Once you’ve contacted Sophie, your initial consultation will be scheduled in. In this meeting, Sophie will talk you through the process (see our Process page also!) and you can ask as many questions as you need. After this meeting, Sophie will send back meeting notes and initial rough sketches with a quote range. It’s from this point, if you’re happy to proceed, Sophie will ask for a deposit based off your discussions, initial drawings and quotes. After this, it’s all systems go to gem sourcing, CAD and the workshop! Sophie will keep you updated throughout the process to let you know how things are progressing.
What services does Sophie Flanagan Fine Jewellery offer?
- Sophie offers a bespoke jewellery commission service as well as sourcing ready-to-wear items. Bespoke jewellery can mean a completely new piece of jewellery or a reimagining of an heirloom. Alongside this, she also will consult and has the ability to source ready-to-wear jewellery for clients if they are on a shorter lead time or just want some reassurance that an item they have seen is good quality.
What are the benefits of a bespoke piece of jewellery?
- There is no compromise, and you can create something entirely unique. Alongside that, there is the intangible sentimental value of commissioning a one-off piece of jewellery that tells a story all its own. Sophie involves clients throughout the entire process, so they feel deeply connected to their creation.
Are your diamonds certified?
- All diamonds are only sourced through reputable suppliers, and larger stones will come with a GIA or equivalent certification where required. Smaller, accent diamonds are often uncertified due to expense, but their sourcing has been strict to the Kimberley Process so clients can rest assured that they are from conflict free zones.
Can my bespoke piece of jewellery be valued for insurance ahead of delivery?
- Absolutely! Sophie Flanagan Fine Jewellery offers clients the ability to have their bespoke jewellery valued for insurance purposes through an independent registered valuer. If this is required, Sophie will factor this into delivery lead times.
What type of initial consultation do you offer?
- Sophie can either meet a client face to face in London, or through virtual means – the choice is yours! In this initial stage, Sophie is asking lots of questions, gathering information and hearing about your ideas for design.
What are the timelines for a bespoke commission?
- From initial consultation to delivery is approximately 8-12 weeks – but there are lots of factors to consider in this including amends to design, stone choice and time of the year. If you are working to a specific date, do let Sophie know as early as possible so this can be considered into the estimated timeline.
What are your consultation fees?
- If Sophie is consulting for you on a ready-to-wear item, fees start from £150 for the initial consultation.
